Gentse feesten 2018

Een citytrip naar de sfeervolle Belgische stad Gent is altijd een feestje, maar een bezoek aan deze stad tijdens de Gentse feesten zorgt voor een unieke ervaring. De Gentse feesten 2018 vinden plaats van vrijdag 13 juli tot en met zondag 22 juli. Dit jaar wordt de 175e editie van dit feest gevierd en is daardoor extra speciaal. Dit culturele feest is met een divers aanbod aan artiesten, comedy, workshops, wandeltochten, sportactiviteiten en leuke activiteiten voor de kinderen, geschikt voor het hele gezin. Het is dan ook niet voor niets één van de grootste en populairste feesten in Europa.

Show en spektakel

Tijdens het 10 daagse feest is er een overvloed aan show en spektakel. Zo kun je je, op het Emile Braunplein, dagelijks volledig uitleven tijdens de Mardi Grass activiteiten, geïnspireerd op het oorspronkelijke carnaval uit New Orleans. Op het Baudelohof oefen je je salsa – en kizomba danspassen, en verspreid over 13 podia door de stad, geniet je dagelijks van optredens van lokale, nationale en internationale artiesten, waaronder:

Natuurlijk is er ook aan de kinderen gedacht. Elke dag worden er, op verschillende locaties, activiteiten voor de kinderen georganiseerd. Zo wordt het Zuidpark omgetoverd tot Gentopia, een wereld met een eigen burgermeester en een eigen taal, en vol show, animatie, springkussens, circusactiviteiten en spelletjes. Of wat dacht je van een tochtje in de Sprookjesboot met Alina Pralina en de Piratenschat? Leer je liever je eigen brood bakken? Ook dat kan, voor jong en oud valt er genoeg te beleven!

Wandeltochten en rondvaartboten

Om de stad goed te verkennen, de prachtige gebouwen te bezichtigen en meer te leren over de historie van de stad, worden er dagelijks verschillende wandeltochten georganiseerd. Onder begeleiding van een gids word je rondgeleid door de stad en kom je leuke feitjes te weten. Beweeg je je liever voort over het water, dan is een tochtje met één van de rondvaartboten een goede keus. Via verschillende vaarroutes maak je kennis met de cultuur en geschiedenis van Gent. Wanneer je liever zelf in actie komt, kun je een kano huren en zelf de oude binnenstad ontdekken.

Op zondag 15 juli om 23.00 op de Voorhoutkaai kun je genieten van een spectaculaire vuurwerkshow, dit is absoluut één van de hoogtepunten van de Gentse feesten.
